Add to favorites Favorited View favorites Pay Grade/Pay Range: Minimum: $74,200 - Midpoint: $100,200 (Salaried E12) Department/Organization: 218142 - AL Disability Advocacy Prog (ADAP) Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 4:45 pm Job Summary: The Associate Director of the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program coordinates and supervises the work of the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program (ADAP). Provides clinical training for the University's law students. Fulfills public relations, public outreach, and education duties. Note to Applicants: Position is eligible for hybrid work subject to University policy. Additional Department Summary: ADAP is the statewide protection and advocacy system for the State of Alabama. ADAP works to achieve fairness and justice for Alabamians with disabilities. We provide legally-based advocacy services; conduct complex litigation to support systems change on behalf of persons with disabilities; investigate allegations of abuse and neglect against persons with disabilities; participate in legislative and regulatory advocacy work; and conduct education and outreach about disability rights. Required Minimum Qualifications: Juris doctorate and four (4) years of law practice experience with a specialty in disability law; OR master's degree and four (4) years of experience managing a disability services program. Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Extensive in-state travel is required. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions. Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of civil and disability rights. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant field with at least four (4) years of supervisory or management experience. Clinical background or social work background.
