Painter Operator Trainee - Second Shift

Job Summary:

Entry role focused on training and assisting operators. The position's emphasis is on learning, preparation of items for paint, operating, and maintaining paint shop equipment. Proper application and inspection of product is a key element.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Operates lift devices (chain hoists, pallet jacks, forklifts).

2. Washes, phosphates, and rinses items in preparation for paint.

3. Prepares and blasts cylinders and components, utilizing cylinder blaster.

4. Performs daily and weekly preventative maintenance on paint shop equipment and processes.

5. Operates 2KS paint system and booth automations

6. Applies primer and paint for proper coverage and appearance.

7. Visually inspects work for acceptance.

8. Performs waste management processes to comply with health and safety requirements.

9. Performs system transactions and maintains records as required.

10. Must be able to pass forklift certificate within 30 days of hire.

11. Adheres to safety practices and follows Fike and ISO 9001 policies

Performs related duties as assigned. Regular and consistent attendance is required

Essential Skills:

Subject Matter Exposure. Computer Understanding. Mechanical Aptitude. Housekeeping. Teamwork.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to guarded moving mechanical parts. The

employee is occasionally required to push, pull, stretch, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee is also required to walk, talk, hear,

use hands to finger, handle, or fell; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally employee is exposed to outdoor environmental

conditions. The employee is frequently required to stand. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The

employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using appropriate moving devices. Specific vision abilities required

by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be willing and able to wear protective clothing

and gear as needed.

Job Qualification:

REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to read, follow instructions, work orders, and engineered drawings.

Exposure to hand tools (wrenches, drivers). Basic math and computer skills.

PREFERRED: Exposure to painting, other manufacturing experience, or vo-tech training.
