The Field Support Center in Tucker, Georgia serves each GMS location, providing the support needed to enable local teams to deliver outstanding service to contractors and builders in their local communities.

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Gypsum Management & Supply (GMS) Summer 2025 Corporate Accounting intern will be assisting the accounting organization with our annual audit and 10-K preparation. This role will provide a broad overview of corporate accounting and interface with Accounting, Treasury, Tax, FPA, Internal and External Audit. Additionally, the Corporate Accounting intern will have opportunities to work on ad-hoc projects throughout the overall Finance Department, allowing for insight into the greater world of corporate finance.

Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Assist accounting team with month end and quarter end close procedures.
  • Assist with the review and tie out of 10-K and 10-Q statements, including footnotes.
  • Prepare spreadsheets to support accounting entries and reconciliation.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to the preparation of balance sheet and income statement.
  • Assist with coordination and preparation of workpapers related to the external audit.
  • Assist with miscellaneous projects with Treasury, Tax, Accounting, etc.



Basic Qualifications:



  • Currently enrolled as a rising junior or senior in a Bachelor's degree program, majoring in Accounting or related area of study
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Detail oriented
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines

Physical Requirements:



  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 70% of the time.
  • Will occasionally move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Constantly working in an office environment.
