Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Description:

This position reports to the Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will perform varied engineering assignments requiring general familiarity with a broad field of electrical engineering and design; ultimately providing high-quality, cost-effective work resulting in exceptional client service.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:


  • Power System Studies - including:

- Short Circuit, Protective Device Coordination, and Arc Flash studies, ETAP, -
- EasyPower or similar experience is an advantage
- Load flow and fault analysis
- Power Quality studies
- Reactive Power Compensation studies
- Harmonics studies and filer recommendations


  • Capable of analyzing results, writing reports, summarizing findings, and preparing designs based on study outcomes.
  • Field data collection as required

- Site walks, investigating electrical equipment, and sketching electrical system
layout and single lines


  • Prepare Site Layouts - Plan views, Sections and collaborate/co-ordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including Civil/Structural, Telecom, Automation/SCADA, Environmental engineers, and SME's
  • Experience with Utilities and regulatory approval processes and requirements for connecting clients to the grid; and/or connecting renewable power sources to the grid.
  • Prepare full design specifications (from FEED through to IFC Packages - and updating as-built drawings) based on Client needs and local utility requirements.
  • Experience with Control House / EHouse design and layouts
  • Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD or Micro Station for all industry sectors and provide advice on the use of the programs to increase efficiency (scripts and batch routines)
  • Provide technical support to Technical Field Services & Engineering teams
  • Work with project teams effectively through collaboration, support, team focus and client focus
  • Travel and work at site locations as required
  • Interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner and sell the PSG experience
  • Specify electrical equipment for purchase and review and approve vendor drawings
  • Utilize working knowledge of document control philosophies
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Various other duties as required

Requirements:


  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and reference check.
  • Have a current valid driver's license and able to maintain a safe driving record.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours at times plus travel overnight
