Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty, and addictions. The Janitorial Services Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of Janitors in their daily work and maintaining assigned facilities. The Supervisor will be responsible for establishing the quality of work and maintaining internal and external customer satisfaction throughout the facility. is an integral member of the facilities team and regularly collaborates with leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide leadership, oversight, and supervision of assigned janitorial employees. Responsibilities include hiring, evaluations, coaching, and staff oversight for assigned personnel. Work in collaboration with Human Resources to improve employee performance and ensure staff discipline when necessary.
  • Act as point of contact for both internal and external staff and leadership regarding facility physical and plant operations of assigned facility.
  • Maintain quality environmental services to internal customer base.
  • Respond to external and internal customer service requests and assist with resolving complaints
  • Monitor facility compliance with all CCC policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all applicable building codes.
  • Implement developed standards and operational specifications for building systems.
  • Implement new policies and procedures as directed.
  • Monitor all vendors and contractors with on-site activities.
  • Plan and facilitate regular janitorial staff meetings. Maintain effective communication with janitorial staff and co-located programs.
  • Maintain daily staff schedules and follow Collective Bargaining Agreement shift-bid process to fill vacant shifts.
  • Maintain janitorial supply inventory and equipment
  • Perform site inspections independently and with employees to ensure quality control measures are met
  • Implement Preventative Maintenance schedules.
  • Develop and improve janitorial staff onboarding and ongoing development curriculums
  • Provide training to existing and new employees and assure staff are registering themselves and attending all required trainings
  • Work with related departments and outside vendors to maintain property condition and standards
  • Assist with monitoring budgets, ensuring program expenses do not exceed allocated budgets.
  • Stay current and implement industry best practices
  • Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy and security regulations applicable to the program, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security
  • Perform other duties as assigned


PREFERRED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Perform pest control with scheduling, inspections, treatments, follow-up cleaning, and required documentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in the custodial industry to include some lead or supervisory experience. Facility coordination experience preferred.
  • Experience in customer service-related management.
  • Must have knowledge of bio-hazard and chemical safety protocols.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency using a computer and MS Outlook, Word, and Excel. Must have the ability to learn operations software including Yardi, Relias, SharePoint, and UKG.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must possess a current driver's license, pass a DMV background check and be designated an "acceptable" driver as outlined in Central City Concern's Fleet Safety Policy. Must pass an initial driver training within 60 days of being an approved driver and continued recertification training.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification prior to start.
  • Will be required to carry an agency cell phone for work use. Cell phone will be provided by Central City Concern.
  • The OAR prohibits SUDS program staff from having within the previous 3 years a DUI conviction or diversion, a felony conviction, or a conviction under the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull, and lift heavy objects. Must be able to climb stairs several times a day.
  • Ability to work in an environmental condition of varied degrees of weather (including inclement), dust, dirt, fumes, and smoke.
  • Ability to adhere to Central City Concern's drug-free workplace which encourages a safe, healthy and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug-Free Work Place Act of 1988. An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance or alcohol.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
  • Must adhere to agency's non-discrimination policies.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientations, treating each individual with respect and dignity. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with pest control practices, specifically on Bed Bugs.
  • Have an active Oregon Department of Agriculture Pesticide Applicators Apprentice License (pay differential of 1.5% with active license).
