Regional Trading and Supply Analyst

DIVISION:

U.S. Energy POSITION SUMMARYThe Regional Trading and Supply Analyst will be responsible for scheduling and distributing refined products on rail, trucks, barges/vessels, and pipelines in their assigned region and market. Coordinating with, developing, and maintaining relationships with various internal and external constituents is critical. This Analyst will be responsible for managing inventory levels at U.S. Energy and 3rd party-owned terminals. Additionally, this role will be responsible for monitoring and creating monthly, weekly, or daily allocations for contract and non-contract accounts, troubleshooting loading/setup issues internally and externally, managing pricing within various systems, and ensuring accurate pricing to customers. This role involves reconciling all types of contracts within the specified region and understanding product availability at different supply points. These responsibilities include overseeing logistics and documentation processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate records of transactions. Finally, this role has a responsibility to help the Marketing team optimize and grow the U.S. Energy unbranded marketing business throughout assigned region. The ideal candidate will serve as a liaison between energy services, customers, marketers, and supply managers, ultimately ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction.

This position will be located at our office in Houston, TX with a hybrid work schedule. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Control and manage inventory for U.S. Energy, maintaining a thorough understanding of the products available at different supply points, scheduling refined product movements via various transportation methods to optimize allocation and pricing decisions with accuracy and timeliness
  • Work cross-functionally with Compliance, Finance, Treasury/Credit, Trading and Supply and other support groups, as necessary, to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relations, providing exceptional support regarding allocation, pricing, and contract inquiries.
  • Monitor and create allocations, develop and execute pricing strategies, and ensure accurate pricing across all systems and customer accounts
  • Coordinate with Marketing, Operations, and other stakeholders to achieve supply needs and ensure seamless communication
  • Utilize problem solving skills to resolve customer questions and concerns related to loading, billing, pricing and setup and use analytical skills to build forecasts and anticipate problems areas or pitfalls
  • Understand and provide timely feedback on RFP and Marketing BTB contracts for economic and market-specific requirements.
  • Reconcile all types of contracts within the specified region to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Analyze data related to allocations, pricing, and contracts to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on allocation, pricing, and contract performance.
  • Responsible for understanding, identifying, and executing supply and sales strategies based on identifying economic drivers and risks associated with in the marketplace
  • Negotiate new term sales contracts and maintain and extend current sales contracts
  • Manage and update cost buildups and daily pricing of posted rack values
  • Participate in industry events, as applicable, and have willingness to travel, as necessary
  • Investigate problem areas with processes, as needed and aid in process improvements and help drive efficiencies

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
  • At least five years' experience in industry operations or trading analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive business relationships
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on listening
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to make quick decisions
  • Ability to resolve issues independently
  • Ability to work within a team to accomplish group goals

Preferred:

  • Experience in pipeline, truck, rail or transload logistics
