Job Details

The Sr. Director, Brand Performance, reporting to the VP, Insights and Intelligence. , will be a key leader within the Insights and Intelligence (I&I) team. The I&I team comprises highly respected researchers, decision scientists, and strategists that ensure that leaders are making decisions grounded in rigorous analysis and market intelligence. , This role is responsible for measuring the performance of the brand, ensuring a focus on maturity and competitive edge in the marketplace, and developing a competitive intelligence (CI) program. This is an individual contributor role that will work closely with the Director of Brand Messaging to provide insights to inform enterprise campaigns and market opportunities. This role will also work closely with Directors of CX research and UX research in creating a broad measurement strategy for the Cencora enterprise. This highly strategic role will be part of the lead teams of VP, Enterprise Marketing and VP, Insights and Intelligence. This role will also manage key vendor relationships to deliver on key responsibilities in performance measurement and tracking, insights collection and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in marketplace research, competitive intelligence (CI), and customer behavior, with a proven track record of measuring brand growth and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Maturity Tracking:

  • Establish and manage analytical models and frameworks for tracking brand maturity and performance across multiple customer segments.

  • Analyze brand health metrics and provide actionable insights to drive continuous improvement.

Marketplace Research and Insights:

  • Oversee the design and execution of comprehensive marketplace research initiatives to gather insights on customer behaviors, market trends, and competitive activities.

  • Translate research findings into strategic recommendations to inform brand strategy and marketing initiatives.

Competitive Intelligence:

  • Lead the development of competitive intelligence programs to monitor and analyze the activities of key competitors.

  • Keep track of a broad range of secondary sources that capture market and competitive intelligence that can be used to respond to current and emerging threats

Brand Strategy Enablement:

  • Provide strategic guidance based on competitive analysis to enhance the brand's market position and capitalize on opportunities.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with internal teams, including marketing, product development, sales, and customer service, to ensure alignment and integration of brand performance insights into strategies.

Performance Measurement:

  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of brand strategies and initiatives.

  • Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in market research, analysis, measurement and reporting, or a related field, with a focus on measuring brand performance in B2C and/or B2B.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in research processes (e.g., research design, sample planning, data collection, statistical analyses, and reporting)

  • Proficiency in routine statistical methods (e.g., multivariate regression analysis, correlation analysis and statistical tests)

  • Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with brand health tracking and competitive analysis.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a track record of driving results.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in market research platforms (e.g., Qualtrics, Medallia)

  • Advanced knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SQL, R, Python) and statistical software platforms (e.g., SPSS, SAS),

  • 3 - 5 years leading cross functional teams

  • 3 - 5 years brand measurement in B2B

  • 3-5 years developing competitive intelligence (CI) programs

  • Analytical Acumen: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and generate insights.

  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to build coalitions and advocatess across the enterprise.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Salary Range*
$121,000 - 186,230

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
