About the opportunity
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a Solution Development Director responsible for all custom software systems, processes, and tools. Balances technical depth and business acumen to ensure software investments are strategic and maximize value. Leads team that designs, builds and maintains software systems leveraging best practices from Agile, Lean and DevOps. Utilizes the latest Microsoft Azure, Amazon cloud and other software platforms to provide flexible systems that meet our scientific business needs. Provides expert opinions on "buy vs build" strategic discussions. Leads the software development team responsible for building new solutions as well as the data science team of Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning experts applying their skills to both client- and employee-facing technology projects. Works closely with our Field Data Collection/Tablet team to build and support our scientific field collection needs. Establishes and delivers continuous improvement to the company's digital collaboration capabilities. Contributes technical perspective to strategic business discussions and advocates for best practices. This is a regular, benefits eligible, full time, salaried position, eligible for remote work within the US, or in any SWCA office nationwide. An employee in this position can expect an annual salary of $153,878-$201,052/year. Actual pay within this range may depend on experience, qualifications, geographic location, client requirements where applicable, and other factors permitted by law. Regular-status employees are also eligible for performance bonuses.
