Job Summary: The Loan Post-Closing Clerk position is a part of the Loan Department. The primary responsibilities of this position include file document review, post-closing loan processing and support for the lending area. Under the direction of the Loan Operations Supervisor, the main functions of the position are the post-closing review of new loans, scanning and indexing of closing loan documents; supporting Escrow activities and answer incoming telephone inquiries. This position will support other areas of the Loan Department. The Loan Post-Closing Clerk will refer customers to other bank departments as appropriate for additional services. This position will comply with the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA PATRIOT Act including Customer Identification Program, customer due diligence, identifying high risk accounts, reporting suspicious activities to the BSA Departments.

Responsibilities, Duties & Accountabilities:

* Performs in-depth post-closing reviews of loan documents for both commercial and consumer loans, ensuring accuracy and completeness in comparison to the core system. Ensures errors or deficiencies are corrected during the review process;

* Addresses documentation exceptions and loan discrepancies. Coordinates with responsible parties to resolve these issues and maintains tracking reports of these exceptions. Manages detailed monitoring and updates, ensuring compliance with approval requirements and resolves issues. This will also include periodic audits on files for missing collateral documentation and collection thereof;

* Ensures meticulous imaging and indexing of loan-related records once post-closing review is completed. Imaging and indexing also includes detailed documentation for loan reviews, collateral, original loan documents, covenants, financial reporting, recurring exceptions, insurance, and mortgage files;

* Serves as a back-up support to Escrow, for example setting up new escrow accounts on the system, monitoring the escrow accounts and making sure all invoices get paid on time;

* Assist with customer questions and make any necessary corrections to the customer's file or account for all loans. Troubleshooting possible errors on loan transactions;

* Supports walk in customers of the bank with special requests. For example, customers may request notarized documents;

* As part of the overall team of bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities;

* This position requires a basic knowledge of other job duties within the department and serves as back-up support to the Loan Assistant, Loan Clerk, Loan Receptionist and others as needed;

* Maintains knowledge with lending compliance regulations in order to process loan file information accurately;

* Complete ongoing courses to maintain required compliance knowledge requirements.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

* Minimum of High School Diploma or Equivalency, preferably an Associate's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or other business-related field of study; or equivalent, applicable experience in a relevant area of banking and/or business

* Minimum three (3) years' relevant work experience preferably in Banking, Business or related area

* Demonstrated proficient computer skills, preferably working with Microsoft Office products, office systems and programs, with an emphasis on EXCEL, and the ability to successfully navigate and maintain current knowledge and skills working with technology

* Demonstrated ability to think critically and perform intermediate mathematical calculations

* Demonstrated above-average verbal and written communication skills

* Demonstrated attention to detail, with the ability to detect errors and make necessary adjustments accordingly

* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage one's time to complete work according to established deadlines; and the ability to prioritize tasks to make the best use of time for high priority tasks

* Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn: In an ever-changing and evolving world of banking and investments in our community, this position requires an eagerness to adapt to those changes and the initiative to learn outside of daily parameters

* Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in working with private, sensitive and other highly confidential information

* Demonstrated experience to tactfully and professionally address concerns and complaints

* Demonstrated ability to work independently, maintain professional working relationships with staff members, peers, leadership, customers and the general public

* Ability to maintain regular and routine attendance and punctuality
