 Our company is seeking to hire an experienced Oceanic Engineer to support project leadership, analysis, procurement, installation and site acceptance testing of an undersea sensor system at test ranges and at various coastal locations. In particular, we are looking for candidates who are self-starters, teachable, and able to learn new things as they work together with others to solve challenging technical problems. Worldwide travel may be required.
 
 Job Description
 
 This position will:
 
 
 
 
 
   
 Support conversion of customer requirements into clear system requirements for monitoring and surveillance of undersea instrumentation and electronics, ashore command and control, and a network of sensor systemsSupport the planning, site preparation, integration, configuration, operations, and maintenance of continual measurement and data analysis of sensor system health status, electronic instrumentation health status, and various oceanic subsurface environmental and water measurements.Perform systems engineering processes, procedures, and best practices Provide engineering expertise to activities such as development, testing, evaluating, training and configuration management in support of programProvide technical support to evaluate and integrate new capabilitiesWork with system, hardware, and software teams to design solutions to meet requirementsWork with test and sustainment team to ensure that all requirements are tested, and systems are emplaced in accordance with study design objectives.

 Required Experience and Skills:
 
 
 
 Technical expertise in remote sensor systemsBachelor's Educational proficiency and 15 years experience in Oceanic Engineering and/or Maritime Science; or master's and 10 years; or Doctorate and 5 years. High MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word proficiencyStrong written and oral communication skillsAbility to travel (east coast US) and internationallyAbility and motivation to work with minimal direction
 Additional Experience / Qualifications of Interest:
 
 
 
 Master's or Doctorate degree or higher in electrical engineering, physics, computer science, and/or oceanic sciencesOperational experience sonar, GPS, barimetrics, acoustics, and various undersea sensors and communications
 
   
 Networking & Communications to include VLF, cable trades weights/cost/thruput, optical communicationsC2, Maps and graphics displays, Data Recording standards, Data formats, Hardware integrationEnvironmental issues
 
Strong decision making and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on innovative and creative solutionsProactive, self-motivated and self-directing; able to drive deliverables and results which involves people who do not always report to you
 Must be a US Citizen
