The Director of IT and Technology is the strategic leader for IT and Technology for the company and will be responsible for all aspects of Information Technology. This role will be focused on transforming and building the Marmon IEI IT organization through a strong customer-centric vision and infrastructure perspective. This role will develop and lead the efforts to have a more impactful digital footprint and IT strategy. The Director of IT and Technology will provide the vision and leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of company-wide information technology systems and ensure the coherent integration of these services to meet the company's strategic goals. This role provides leadership and direction to all IT functions within the company, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective support. Will collaborate with functional leaders on how to continue to advance the use of technology to enhance customer and employee experience, as well as improve production capabilities.

Essential Duties:

  • Be the functional expert and leader of the function to help guide the company on digital transformation and automation initiatives, keep the leadership team abreast of new technological solutions, ensure effective and efficient IT service delivery, and build out program management capabilities
  • Provide IT strategic direction and vision to lead IT function and teams
  • Transform and scale IT and technology teams, creating and delivering technical architecture and infrastructure to support a great experience across a broad internal/external customer base
  • Ensuring the company has the right technology resources to support all areas of the business
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of information technology programs and services and the development of mission-critical applications and technology to support the company's day-to-day objectives and long-term ambitions
  • Developing and leading a team responsible for the day-to-day infrastructure engineering, enterprise business systems, desktop and productivity tools, and operational functions
  • Identifying emerging information technologies to be analyzed and integrated within the organization
  • Defining and promoting the IT roadmap for the organization and integrating with the companies overall technology and program roadmap
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity strategy and ensure compliance with all corporate cybersecurity initiatives. Ensure that the organization's IT systems are secure, compliant with industry regulations, and protected against cyber threats.
  • Ensuring our IT programs meet or exceed the most secure industry protocols and have appropriate executive support
  • Will improve internal & external User Experience with technology and IT systems by listening to voice of the customer, conducting needs assessments, and creating/implementing value-add applications, processes, and systems to improve service levels
  • Ensure team appropriately and proactively monitors and improves all IT infrastructure within the company, providing high-levels of customer support and troubleshooting
  • Manage and oversee IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business goals
  • Ensure all software & hardware in use is properly identified, tracked and managed.
  • Provides strategic leadership on the use of software for the automation (future AI) of the process of design and the capture historical development information with the intent of becoming the central source of engineering.
  • Building and leading the team that provides all Data Analysis and integration of various systems to provide leadership and departments with the needed data and metrics to make sound decisions
  • Provides leadership and strategy around Data Architecture to simplify how data is built and stored, and to create reliability in systems and database administration
  • Work with senior leadership and corporate IT to ensure technology strategies are integrated into the company's overall business strategy

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 10+ years' of experience in Information Technology in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years experience leading IT teams, with prior experience leading technology cloud, application, infrastructure, and architecture teams
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging technology to advance business outcome
  • Demonstrated experience building strategic relationships
  • Demonstrated experience working with consulting firms, software vendors, and third-party suppliers to compliment that internal IT resources
  • * Proven ability to lead complex projects and adapt to changing priorities, including experiencing in implementing and supporting ERP and other technology platforms
  • Has led the organizational development and growth of the technology function; strong ability to identify, hire, build and scale a high performing team
  • Has executed successful technical strategies around building and scaling high quality platforms and systems
  • Demonstrated experience with various technology platforms including IBM Mainframe, Windows, Linux, AIX, Cloud (Azure/AWS) and SAAS solutions
  • Knowledge of helpdesk environments and service levels; ITIL experience a plus
  • Certification in Agile Project Management as granted by Project Management Institute (PMI)
  • Business and Technology Strategy Experience

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Axiom (or similar ERP) and relational databases
  • Strong ability to follow through and follow up to ensure completion of tasks
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects/deliverables at once
  • Ability to work fluidly within a team, where both structure and ambiguity may be present, and willingness to ask questions to ensure clarity for best outcome
  • Effective interpersonal skills for interaction with a diverse group of clients, vendors, and visitors, and remain calm and constructive regardless of other involved in a situation
  • Highly collaborative, with ability to work in a team environment across multiple
  • Ability to discern the root cause or core need when receiving multiple points of
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure while meeting short deadlines

Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position sitting, talking, looking at a computer, charts/graphs and performing repetitive motions.
  • Ability to move objects and materials of at least 25lbs.
  • Ability to collaborate with manufacturing team members as needed in an environment that can be noisy.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite.
