Job Summary




The Wastewater Operator Operates and provides maintenance of all equipment and processes related to the wastewater treatment system.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities




Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:




  • Operate and troubleshoots wastewater treatment system.
  • Calibrate pH and ORP probes.
  • Inspect and operate tanks, plumbing and level switches.
  • Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses.
  • Run batch processes and manage standalone waste processes in various areas.
  • Assist with ordering parts, chemicals and materials for wastewater system.
  • Assist with chemical corrections for clean line processes.
  • Assist with management of solid and liquid waste haul-off with third-parties.
  • Assist with revising standing operating procedures related to any waste processes.
  • Follow all policies and procedures.

Education and Experience





  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related experience preferred.
  • HAZWOPER certification preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Waste Water treatment preferred.



Knowledge, Skill and Abilities




To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of wastewater discharge, sampling and treatment a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste a plus but not required.
  • Ability to use hand held meters for water sampling and document data on field logs.
  • Understanding of collecting and measuring KPIs in order to make data driven decisions.
  • Experience with documenting procedures and participating in executing EHS programs a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision after receiving detailed instruction and expectations.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs as required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, large general industry environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) a plus but not required.
  • Communication skills both written and verbal.
