Length of Assignment: 6 months

Shift/Schedule Details:

  • 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
  • One position scheduled Sunday - Thursday
  • One position scheduled Monday - Friday

Location: Knoxville, TN

Job Description:

We are looking for two Quality Control Lab Assistants to support our laboratory team in preparing materials for testing and assisting in various laboratory procedures. You will work alongside certified professionals to ensure high-quality standards and regulatory compliance. Key duties include:

  1. Sample Preparation & Handling:

    • Receive and prepare samples for testing through front-end automation.
    • Manage refrigerated and frozen storage of samples and reconcile them for additional testing using computerized systems.
  2. Testing Support:

    • Assist certified professionals with laboratory tests.
    • Dispose of biohazardous materials safely after testing.
  3. Specimen Tracking & Data Management:

    • Receive, process, and record specimen information from collection centers.
    • Track and manage donor samples from receipt through final testing.
    • Use the company's laboratory inventory management system to monitor sample status.
  4. Safety & Compliance:

    • Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
    • Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
    • Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and all relevant regulatory standards.
  5. Inventory Management:

    • Assist in monitoring laboratory supply inventory and notify supervisors of any shortages.
  6. Continued Education:

    • Participate in ongoing training to enhance laboratory skills and knowledge.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills

Preferred / Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Previous lab-related experience is preferred
