| The Legal Department of Applied Industrial Technologies (NYSE: AIT), a $4.5 billion industrial distributor operating in seven countries, seeks a midlevel corporate paralegal who thrives in a collaborative, high-volume, and fast-paced environment to join its team. The position is located at Applied's corporate headquarters at 3301 Euclid Avenue in the Midtown area (just east of downtown and near the I-90 Innerbelt) of Cleveland, Ohio. Essential Duties and Job Functions The person in this position may be responsible for, among other things: 
 Support the lawyers in the company's legal department on a variety of other legal matters, including contract management, employment law, and UCC filings. Assist internal business clients with responding to a wide range of legal requests, such as customer questionnaires for Applied and its subsidiaries.Assist lawyers in filing and managing bankruptcy claims against financially troubled customersManage compliance with terms and requirements of government contracts, including SAM.gov registrations, applications and renewals of various government licensesSupport implementation of new technology and tools for contract management and document storage.Manage unclaimed property recovery effortsAssist legal team with training internal business clients on various legal topics and processesManage docket and handle routine matters for litigation and claims, including drafting litigation holds and collecting discovery information Basic Required Qualifications 
 Must have High School Diploma or equivalent; Paralegal degree/education preferredExperience working in a corporate legal department and/or law firm serving a wide range of business clients and advising companies on relevant legal mattersAbility to read, analyze, and interpret terms and forms of contracts and other legal documentsAbility to recognize, analyze and escalate (or communicate, as appropriate) legal and business risks faced by the companyAbility to clearly and concisely communicate legal concepts to internal business clients in both verbal and written form, build strong relationships, and effectively liaise with people at all levelsIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and Adobe products; adept at using (or learning) existing (or new) technologies and incorporating them into work as required 
 Ability to think proactively and creatively, devise solutions to challenging issues, and respond quickly and pragmatically
