SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates activities of CNC department in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Reviews production schedules with Director of Production and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Plans production operations and establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and employees.
  • Provides technical support to show more efficient methods to meet objectives. Researches new tooling technology to improve efficiency, quality and overall cost.
  • Confers with department managers and supervisors to coordinate activities of CNC department.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates and suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to upper management.
  • Initiates and suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
  • Manages the cleanliness of the department as well as designated outside areas.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages all employees in the CNC Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Three to five years related experience/training and a High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience using computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Manufacturing Software
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
