Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies. We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Responsibilities
Looking for a qualified candidate for a Data Systems Engineer role. This position supports the Center Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering (CMOE) contract located at NASA Langley Research Center. The Data Systems Engineer is part of a team that supports wind tunnel facilities and will provide data support for data quality. Also, will provide operational and data support for test engineers and for customers at the wind tunnel facility.
Responsibilities:
Qualifications
- BS degree in appropriate discipline from ABET college or university. And three (3) to five (5) years related engineering experience, or MS degree and two (2) to three (3) years of related engineering experience, or Ph.D.
- Preferred candidate will have experience with wind tunnel testing and data acquisition systems
- Familiarity with engineering software tools such as LabVIEW and MATLAB is preferred
- A strong mathematics, mechanical or electrical background will be considered favorably
- Experience with aeronautics, rotorcraft dynamics, and/or vibration analysis is also desired. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office products is required

Work Environment
Office environment (50-65%)
Test/Industrial Environment- May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities. (25%)
Travel between facilities and test sites is required. Travel between various facilities/test operations is required and may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation. (10%)
Physical Requirements
Potential exposure to high noise levels, hazardous chemicals, propellants and the like. (25%)
Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs. (10%)

Other Essential Functions
U.S. Citizenship required. A valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must be able to balance scope, schedule and budget to insure project success. The work environment requires the ability to cooperate and work with individuals at all levels of the company and the client.
