Scale creates the data that propels the world's most transformative industry, generative AI. We believe that in order to build exceptional LLMs, you need exceptional humans to train them, and Scale operates the world's largest network of people - experts in a staggering array of disciplines, from coding to biology, trigonometry to poetry, and in a variety of spoken languages - to provide training data.

Our generative AI business unit is looking for a seasoned content designer to help us create a consumer-grade experience for the many thousands of people on our platform. As part of the contributor operations team, your work will be essential to delivering the top notch experience we seek to provide for contributors as their work on the platform.

You will:



  • Draft all manner of communications that Scale sends to contributors
  • Partner with product teams early in development cycles to shape UX/UI copy and contributor communications strategy
  • Write as needed for other functions, from product and growth marketing to community and knowledge base management
  • Maintain consistent messaging across the contributor journey
  • Develop content guidelines and templates
  • Design and drive processes from start to finish
  • Collaborate with a variety of cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, growth, support, legal, trust and safety, and pay


The ideal candidate:



  • Writes copy that is clear, concise, and tone-appropriate, with flawless spelling and grammar
  • Translates complex concepts into simple, accessible language
  • Takes ownership, prioritizes, and executes in an extremely fast-paced and demanding environment
  • Is driven by their empathy for the needs and motivations of our contributors
  • Has worked directly with product and engineering teams
  • Draws from a strong understanding of user experience principles and best practices
  • Has a bachelor's degree and at least three years of professional writing experience

Compensation packages at Scale for eligible roles include base salary, equity, and benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position, determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, interview performance, and relevant education or training. Scale employees in eligible roles are also granted equity based compensation, subject to Board of Director approval. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process, and confirm whether the hired role will be eligible for equity grant. You'll also receive benefits including, but not limited to: Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, and generous PTO. Additionally, this role may be eligible for additional benefits such as a commuter stipend.

The base salary range for this full-time position in the location of San Francisco is:
$132,000 $158,400 USD
