Position Overview Public Strategies (PS) is a nationally respected consulting, project management, and marketing firm based in Oklahoma City. Position Summary The Events Manager is responsible for overseeing live, virtual and hybrid meetings, budgeting, and project management in support of the Senior Manager of Events & Logistics. The Events Manager possesses strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines, and experience leading event teams effectively. Essential Job Functions
- Oversees live meetings and special events, including budgeting, site selection, contract negotiation, registration, marketing materials, hotel accommodations, audio-visual services, and exhibits, and post-event activities
- Plans and executes virtual events that provide return on investment to key stakeholders and an engaging digital experience for attendees
- Manages on-site event teams, including administrative staff, temporary event staff and consultants
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with clients, partners, vendors, and other team members
- Prepares budget estimates and written proposals to secure new business
- Stays current on meeting and event trends, including new technology, and contributes creative ideas and solutions
- Utilizes a variety of systems, tools, and platforms to accomplish goals
- Represents Public Strategies at external events, conferences and meetings, as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education/Training
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field, required
- Minimum of four years' experience in lieu of degree
- Certified Meeting Professional or other relevant certification, preferred
Experience
- Minimum of five years' experience working in an event-related capacity, required
- Prior supervision of personnel, required
- Experience with Cvent & Whova registration, preferred
- Participation in a professional association for meeting professionals, preferred
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- MS Office proficiency, required
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously, and maintain professionalism under pressure
- Ability to perform well both independently and as part of a team
- Effective written and oral communication skills

- Has a positive and constructive sense of humor
- Ability to travel domestically by air and/or vehicle (barring travel restrictions)
- Some evening and weekend work required
