GENERAL SUMMARY:

Verifies incoming shipments for accuracy and damages. Logs receiving information into the computer. Restocks shelves with incoming freight. Picks orders for shipment. Delivers orders to East and West Sites. Maintains a clean work environment.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *Inspects incoming shipments for accuracy and damages and enters receipts into computer.

3. *Sorts incoming supplies and stocks in proper locations.

4. *Rotates stock - First In First Out (FIFO).

5. *Fills and documents orders for shipment from warehouse to East or West Site.

6. *Transports supplies/orders between Medical Center facilities; operates vehicle according to departmental policies and motor vehicle laws.

7. *Operates equipment according to manufacturers' specifications and departmental policy.

8. *Uses proper body mechanics in lifting, pushing or pulling for personal safety.

9. Prints and maintains adequate supply of patient charge labels.

10. Counts departmental inventories weekly as requested.

11. Reports problems in inventory counts and conducts spot counts.

12. Stores hospital used equipment.

13. Routinely accesses locked storage areas (where drugs, IV solutions and contrast media are also stored) to obtain or stock supplies as pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures.

14. Maintains all inventory documentation.

15. Notifies Supervisor or appropriate personnel of equipment problems and needed repairs.

16. Ensures warehouse area is neat and clean.

17. Performs minor routine maintenance duties as needed.

18. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.

19. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.

20. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge of basic arithmetic computations.

2. Knowledge of general inventory operations.

3. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.

4. Skill in use of warehouse and work-related equipment.

5. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff.

7. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.

8. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.

9. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.

10. Ability to practice proper body mechanics to ensure personal and customer safety.

11. Ability to document information and maintain records.

12. Ability to perform work effectively under stressful and emergent conditions.

13. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalency required.

OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Per Leader's Discretion - Valid State of Nebraska drivers license required. Verification and maintenance of responsible driving record per facility standards required.

Pallet Jack and Forklift certifications required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

(Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)

(DOT) - Characterized as medium work requiring exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend and push carts for extended periods of time.
