The Role:

We are looking for our next Technical & Indirect Purchasing Manager within our Industrial Purchasing Americas team. The Americas Technical & Indirect Purchasing Manager is a critical link between regional operations and global strategies, reporting to the Head of Industrial Purchasing for the Americas. The role spans multiple departments and functions, requiring strategic oversight of a multi-million-dollar budget. Key responsibilities include aligning local purchasing strategies with global standards and managing procurement across Technical, IT/Digital, and SG&A categories.

This position hybrid (3 days in office per week) after you complete your training within the first 3-6 months, and this position is located in Keokuk, IA.

Compensation:

The current salary range for this role is estimated to be $139,365-$188,600. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation. The specific compensation offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

What You'll Do:

Strategic Procurement Leadership:

  • Ensure cost competitiveness and operational reliability.
  • Oversee and implement regional strategies and ensure alignment with global frameworks.
  • Manage procurement for categories like:
    • Technical: MRO items, maintenance contracts, CAPEX.
      • Overal spend.
        • MRO = 60 million USD
        • Capex = 10 to 50 million USD
      • Number of contracts to manage = 200 Maintenance contracts
      • Number of active suppliers = 600
    • IT/Digital and SG&A: Services including HR, Marketing, Financial, Legal, etc.
      • Overal spend.
        • SGA = 15 million USD
      • Number of contracts to manage
      • Number of active suppliers = 400

Operational Excellence:

  • Monitor pricing and contracts for efficiency.
  • Enhance cross-border collaboration (Canada/USA focus).
  • Drive scale-up plans tied to significant North American investments.

Team Management:

  • Foster an excellence mindset within the team.
  • Supervise personnel, providing training, development, and performance evaluations.
  • Number of Full-time employees to manage (between 5 to 10 FTE)

Vendor Relations:

  • Build robust partnerships with suppliers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Negotiate and oversee agreements ensuring risk control and legal compliance

What You'll Need:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or business management.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in high-value purchasing management, preferably in chemical/wet milling industries.
  • Proven track record of leading multi-million-dollar capital projects and supervising teams.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management abilities.
  • Effective leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Legal language expertise for supplier agreements.
  • ERP systems and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Financial acumen for budget management.

Business Travel:

  • Travel requirements: up to 20% for vendor meetings, site visits, and team collaboration.
