Assistant Asset Management Analyst

Summary

Accountable for the daily management and coordination of NYPA's overall operations, including Overseeing, monitoring, and evaluating the operational performance; directing the preparation of operating budgets and proposals for capital expenditure and investments in infrastructure, technology, equipment, systems, or other assets and resources; analyzing and approving operational investments that best meet the organization's business needs.

Responsible for practicing a fiscally prudent, whole-life value Asset Management approach to optimize the performance, cost (capital and operating), and risk of the assets throughout their lifecycle while ensuring safety, reliability, resilience, environmental, and regulatory compliance to support achievement of customers, stakeholders, New York State, and organizational goals.

Responsibilities
  • Review invoices and track contract costs associated with long-term maintenance contracts.
  • Prepare, Track and analyze daily progress reports and project summaries and develop solutions to adjust the plan and timelines where necessary and communicate out as required.
  • Provide maintenance and management of corporate Intranet web page content and format for team..
  • Prepare spreadsheets, text documents, graphs, and templates as requested.
  • Special projects as assigned
  • Assist in updating the Asset Management manual
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to easily acquire new technological skills as needed.
  • Computer skills in programming, SAP, reporting an understanding of the Maximo system, preferred.
  • Basic Problem-solving skills, organizational skills, attention to detail and strong time-management skills, all highly desirable.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate in a safe and orderly manner while at NYPA sites while working either with contractors or site staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service attitude and team-oriented spirit
  • Ability to take direction from multiple people and perform highly varied tasks.
Education, Experience and Certifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience in a project coordination in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
  • Some experience at a Utility working in the area of Maximo systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Significant travel expected (25% - 45% depending upon responsibilities), primarily within NY State to NYPA owned facilities by car, company plane and commercial transportation.
  • Up to 25% travel primarily within NY State.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel for meetings and project coordination.
  • Availability to attend meetings outside of normal business hours.

The New York Power Authority is committed to providing fair, competitive, and market-informed compensation. The estimated salary range for this position is $79,110 - $118,670. The salary offered will be determined based on the successful candidates' relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
