DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 2, you will perform general maintenance to include carpentry, painting, and plumbing. Work includes maintaining assigned tools and equipment in good working condition, maintaining records of work performed and material utilized for job completion, and consistently exercising safety precautions. Additional responsibilities include landscaping, maintaining grounds and walkways, and keeping assigned areas free of debris.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:

  • This position will require possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
  • Must maintain favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Any formal training (high school vocational program, apprenticeship, or post-high school technical training program) in a skilled building, electrical, or mechanical trade
  • Experience in commercial maintenance of buildings and equipment
  • Experience in commercial carpentry
  • Experience working in the electrical trade field
  • Experience in the plumbing trade
  • Experience with 3-phase wiring to include emergency generators, Automatic Transfer Switches, switch gears and 3-phase panels
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC systems
  • Experience with domestic hot water mixing valves, recirculating loops, aqua stats and instantaneous water heaters
  • Experience with the provisions of Life Safety Codes and Uniform Construction Code (UCC), as it relates to repairs of buildings
  • Structural experience do you have in the maintenance or repair of buildings
