ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT The USC Department of Public Safety (DPS) is one of the largest campus public safety departments in the United States and employs over 300 full time personnel. DPS's primary mission is to provide safe and secure environments on the USC campuses and in the areas surrounding the campuses. The department seeks individuals who have the knowledge, experience and sense of commitment to make the USC community safer. JOB SUMMARY: In this important role, you will support the general safety of the university community by performing assigned patrol duties. You will secure the interior and exterior openings of facilities, monitor electronic door access and closed-circuit television systems, assist with investigations, and perform perimeter and parking lot security functions. This is an unarmed position working under direct supervision of a Community Service Officer II or a Sergeant. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Work Schedule: Your regularly assigned work schedule/shift hours is a 4/10 alternative schedule; 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week. Please note that work schedules and hours may change at any time to accommodate business needs. The duration of your initial work schedule will be determined by your immediate supervisor. Please note: Shifts include holidays, weekends, and overtime; must have availability to work certain special events and emergencies. HOURLY RANGE: The hourly rate for this position is $21.00.
