Job Summary

Central Washington University is recruiting a Project Coordinator - Office for Inclusivity and Readiness to join our Management team in Ellensburg, Washington. The Role:

This position manages the day-to-day operations of the Office of Inclusivity and Readiness. The Project Coordinator is the primary contact point and liaison between the center and all its shareholders. This includes internal and external partners, professional contributors, student organizations, etc. The Project Coordinator will manage and coordinate day to day incoming emails, calls, and other channels of communication; coordinate grant budget activities; coordinate projects; coordinate training session scheduling. All employees are expected to support CWU's commitment to diversity and to bring and support inclusion into the university environment.

Job Duties

- Engages as the primary contact and liaison between the center and all its shareholders. This includes internal and external partners, professional contributors, student organizations, etc.
- Manages and coordinates the day-to-day incoming emails, calls, and other channels of communication.
- Coordinates projects and training session scheduling.
- Plans, coordinates, and monitors scheduling of presentations.
- Understands and consistently utilizes CWU policies, procedures and practices.
- Coordinates and implements communicative functions of the Office of and Readiness.
- Develops and implements a strategic plan for communication with Office of Inclusivity and Readiness shareholders; evaluate communication outcomes and report to Office of Inclusivity and Readiness Director
- Facilitates collaboration between Office of Inclusivity and Readiness administration, faculty and staff and students, and other external stakeholders.
- Produces Office of Inclusivity and Readiness specific communications such as websites and newsletters for distribution both within the university and externally (e.g., to alumni, future students, corporate partners).
- Keep and publicize an Office of Inclusivity and Readiness activities calendar; monitor the university's master event calendar to minimize major event date duplication.
- Provides grant writing support for new engagement activities; research funding opportunities, compile data, and draft proposals. Coordinates grant budget activities.

- Supervision of Peer Mentors.
- Perform other duties as Assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or program.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively organizing multiple work assignments, involving competing priorities to produce work products that are accurate, of a high quality and meet deadlines.
  • Expertise using Microsoft Office Suite to produce written correspondence, create and maintain spreadsheets, databases, and receive and respond to e-mail inquiries, tasks, etc.
  • Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills involving a variety of constituents that result in clear and effective communication.
  • Project management and coordination skills.
  • Event planning and execution skills.
  • Demonstrated willingness and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences.
  • OR applicable combination of education and/or experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Programming and/or administrative experience with CWU.
  • Experience with strategic planning and executing projects.
  • Experience in recruiting, marketing, and/or fundraising.
  • Experience in organizing large workshops/conferences.
  • Experience with electronic calendaring, social media, webpage design and maintenance.
  • Experience or interest in mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Life experiences that demonstrate an ability to contribute to CWU's commitment to inclusion and diversity.
  • Potential to mentor and educate students who will serve diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for students through various activities.
  • Significant administrative project coordination experience.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Salary: This position has a minimum annual salary of $45,303 and maximum annual salary of $63,424. The Hiring Department's expected hiring range is $45,303 - $54,363.50. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the hiring range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Schedule/Appointment: Monday - Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1 hour lunch) / This grant-funded position is currently funded 1 year from the hire date. Continuation of this position past this date is contingent upon renewed funding being obtained.

Working Conditions: Work is performed in an indoor office setting with frequent in-person interactions. It is essential to be able to remain at a desk/computer workstation for prolonged periods of time, perform extensive data entry and other computer-related tasks and create/maintain filing systems for departmental records. Some evening or weekend work and/or occasional travel may be required.
