Summary

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Assistant Administrator for Clinical Operations provides direct oversight to the operations of the JHH Emergency Department in collaboration with the Medical Director and Director of Nursing. The position directs the administrative and operational activities of the Emergency Department. Collaboratively manages all clinical operations for the Department of Emergency Medicine; and assists in administrative and research oversight. Responsible for collaborative integration and joint patient care, teaching and research operations. Coordinates operational and administrative issues related to research, education, and clinical operations. Assists in the financial management of the department as it relates to effectiveness of clinical operations. Directly responsible for all minor and major capital purchases for the clinical space. Direct oversight of all hospital billing functions, including the ED billing team and all related compliance functions. In this role, the Asst. Administrator provides leadership and technical support to nurses and clinical techs related to maximization of billing practices to increase nursing workforce production efficiency, reduce labor costs, and optimize patient billing and hospital revenue capture.

Responsible for clinical process improvement, ED KPIs, operations integration and revenue enhancement. Responsible for integration of patient registration functions and staff with clinical operations. Provide leadership to assure compliance with regulatory and professional standards (e.g., internal policy, Medicare conditions of participation, Joint Commission standards, COMAR, etc). Supports integration with and among the 5 EDs of the JHHS. Take initiative to identify problems, develop courses of action by integration and analysis of clinical and financial information, implement and monitor solutions.

Education:

Work requires a professional level of knowledge in finance, accounting, and business administration in order to effectively manage the administrative and clinical activities in the department, as acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in business, Health Science Administration or a related discipline. Master's degree preferred.

Work Experience:

Minimum 5 years administrative/ supervisory experience in health care operations and finance, preferably in a hospital setting.

Salary Range: Minimum 40.65 per hour - Maximum 71.16 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
