About This Position
The Assistant Inventory Production Manager reports directly to the Inventory Production Manager and serves as a liaison between onsite production teams and site leadership. Manages an inventory tracking system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels. Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels to improve inventory control procedures for assigned kitchens (production areas). Provide guidance, work closely with food production teams assigned to the shift to ensure efficient production, product quality, and recipe compliance. Analyzes daily product and supply levels to anticipate inventory problems and shortages. Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
- Maximize Quality Production with limited down time and waste.
- Comply with FDA, GMP, OSHA and HACCP guidelines.
- Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Wear proper PPE per MSDS and OSHA.
- Manage research and analysis of inventory issues to maintain accurate on hand inventory.
- Ability to recognize and correct quality issues.
- Report any unsafe condition or property damage to supervisor immediately.
- Track out of stock items and any substitutes used.
- Manage all aspects of tracking and reporting inventory items that may expire.
- Manage quality control process for inventory accuracy when product is received.
- Communicate with regional and corporate staff inventory issues or concerns to achieve resolution.
- Verify all equipment is ready for start of shift.
- Ensure all machines scheduled are running.
- Ensure we have enough raw materials to run what is on the daily schedule.
- Know what the priority products are on daily basis.
- Provide appropriate training for employees to perform their assigned position.
- Work closely with the assigned food service director in regards to production personnel and according to daily schedules.
- Produce quality product to meet purchase order.
- Report any equipment problems to General Manager/Food Service Director.
- Enforce startup, operating and shut down procedures for equipment.
- Ensure all changeovers and clean-ups are done properly.
- Adjust manpower according to changes on schedule/equipment availability.
- Ensure all quality tests are performed consistently.
- Ensure daily calibration of scales is done and recorded by Quality Assurance Manager.
- Ensure daily cook tests for all products are done and recorded by Quality Assurance Manager.
- Ensure daily recording of all lot numbers and totals of cases ran in the shift are recorded by Quality Assurance Manager.
- Ensure Quality Assurance Manager performs magnet and screen inspections and appropriately completes logs.
- Ensure the Quality Assurance Manager takes samples for every product ran daily and stored in sample retention area.
- Continually monitor the status of production and machinery.
- Confer with other department managers to ensure production is coordinated to optimize quality production.
- At end of day ensure all rooms are stocked with the correct raw materials for next shift and rooms are cleaned correctly.
- Know all the company policies and standards set by company in order to field employee questions and train properly.
- Enforce all rules and regulations set by the company in a positive up-beat manner.
- Match production sheets to product produced staged in warehouse complete and turn into administrative staff at end of shift.
- Complete and turn in daily variance report to administrative staff at end of shift.
- On lock ups ensure that everything is turned off. Secure all doors and dock doors in the building. Make sure all employees are out of building before leaving.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need
- Associated degree (B. A.) or certification; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- At least three years supervisory experience in food production, preparation, or related fields.
