Production Warehouse Supervisor III

Bio-Rad is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor for the Richmond, CA, Chemical Plant to manage onsite hazardous material and non-hazardous material warehouses, offsite warehouse requests, hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage, refrigerated space and bulk storage tank farms. This role is responsible for over 3200 unique part numbers. This role ensures efficient management of inventory into site, to and from the production floor, and daily shipments to the offsite Distribution Center. This role manages day to day operations with 5+ material handlers, ensuring 100% accuracy in SAP, and works on longer term continuous improvement projects to support cost initiatives, indirect spend goals and improvements to the operating processes.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • Supervises the handling of raw materials, semi-finished goods, finished goods and non inventory items, providing daily direction and guidance so that warehouse staff can safely and efficiently complete required tasks.
  • Responsible for accurate receiving, work order processing, of batch managed and non batch managed materials, fulfilling production needs via direct request and Kanban, and complete shipment documentation in accordance with sound business practices (cGMP) and shipping regulations (DOT).
  • Investigates and resolves issues associated with material shortage, receipt, material movement, issuance, shipment and associated transactions. Key member of site material review and procurement boards.
  • Ensures inventory balances are accurately reported in both the ERP and WMS systems including cycle counting meeting 100% on-time cycle count plans.
  • Prepares performance metrics and procedures to lead, improve and manage warehouse operations. Trains subordinates and other site personnel on SAP transactions and warehouse procedures.
  • With the team, and other departments, continuously improves operational and ergonomic processes. Evaluates work practices and programs and demonstrates personal ownership of continuous improvement activities.


What You Bring:



  • Education: Minimum of High school diploma, GED, or equivalent though Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Logistics, Materials Management or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Work Experience: 5+ years working in distribution/logistics/warehousing, preferably in a regulated environment. Experience with hazardous materials and hazardous waste is highly desirable.
  • 5+ Supervisory/management experience required, with experience working in a union environment a plus.
  • Computer experience including high comfort level with ERP systems (SAP highly desirable) , WMS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced knowledge of production and inventory control techniques and distribution methods.
  • Experience with the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and with perishable goods.
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO, DOT, etc.) pertaining to materials and shipment.
  • Strong investigative, research, multitasking, and problem resolution skills. Continuous Improvement/Lean/6 sigma experience is highly desirable.
  • Proven strong written and verbal communication, project management and leadership skills.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $91,500 to $125,900 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
