Shared Services: Marketing (Full-Time, Day Shift) - Job Summary: The Graphic Designer provides support to the marketing department and Loma Linda University Health by creatively telling a story visually. Works closely with Marketing and Communication team members to verbally communicate ideas and solutions. Works with clients who supply art or copy, creates line drawings or alters those taken from source material, such as vector files. Works with Marketing and Communication team members to develop timelines and meet deadlines. Assist with printing quotes and specifications when applicable. Works with Marketing and Communication team members and vendors to get all jobs to final print or digital. Produces layout reference to present to vendors when the jobs are ready for production when applicable. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Layout, Illustration, or Computer Graphics. Minimum three years of experience in layout or graphic design environment required. Experience may be considered in lieu of Degree.
Knowledge and Skills: Macintosh computer knowledge of InDesign, QuarkXPress, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Layout and design skills. Comprehensive knowledge of printing production process. Good Knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and composition. Tactful, cheerful, sensitive, team player and a willingness to work through a deadline (overtime often required). Able to keyboard 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Must have demonstrated ability to work in intensive support staff activities, coordinated into highly productive, goal/deadline atmosphere, including but not limited to the following: clear and concise communicator, detail-oriented, ability to deal with multiple projects and follows through with detailed understanding of an adherence to deadlines. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position.
