Position Highlights

The Outreach and Recruitment Coordinator is a service focused professional who helps maintain, strengthen, and expand the University of Arizona Outreach, Distance, and Continuing Education (ODCE) presence in Douglas, at Cochise Community College (CCC) locations, and the surrounding region. The coordinator develops and delivers local student support programming and works very closely with academic, college, and ODCE colleagues to provide a variety of UArizona educational opportunities in Cochise County. This position provides support for current and prospective students, including assistance with University of Arizona programs and admission, transfer requirements, community college pathways, financial aid, and distance education options and modalities. This position supports the Senior Success Coach & Location Coordinator with location operations services, ensuring a quality on-site UArizona experience for all faculty, staff, and students. Occasional travel within the region and other University locations is required.

Duties & Responsibilities

Student Success Programming

  • Deliver and promote wraparound support services to meet the needs of distance students in Douglas to include recruitment, admissions, orientation, financial aid, wellness, student success, testing services, retention, and graduation functions.
  • Maintain student records and provide information to appropriate academic and central departments.
  • Monitor academic progress and financial wellness of students; analyze progress reports from faculty/instructors/retention specialist; determine eligibility and satisfactory progress toward degree; identify current and potential needs or problem areas (e.g., study skills, tutoring) and refer students to appropriate campus resources for assistance.
  • Interpret department, college, and university policies and procedures for students.
  • Coordinate with faculty and college advising directors on student progression, course schedules, and transfer evaluations.
  • Collaborate and maintain communications with academic advising and student success teams to stay current with admissions, financial aid, and advising policies and procedures and provide consistent services.
  • Utilize proactive strategies to re-engage students who need additional support.
  • Develop and facilitate videos/webinars and other communications for regional prospects and students using various multimedia.
  • Develop campus relationships with partner departments and colleges to ensure developmentally appropriate student support and advising services for distance campus students.
  • Deliver programming for students to interact with each other, as well as with the university itself.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience is required.
