Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst - Funds Flow and Five-Year Planning is a newly established role designed to coordinate, execute, and oversee budgeting and financial activities related to transactions across Johns Hopkins Health System entities and the School of Medicine (SOM).

The initial focus will be on supporting the newly implemented funds flow initiative by addressing data analysis and reporting needs across Johns Hopkins Medicine, with a primary emphasis on the financial data and reporting requirements of five JHHS hospitals. This position will provide critical support to JHHS leadership and governance committees, offering analyses and insights to guide key decisions related to the funds flow model.

As analyses are developed, automated, and transitioned into a maintenance phase, the role will pivot to supporting long-term financial planning efforts, including the Health System's five-year strategic financial plan. The Senior Financial Analyst will consolidate financial data from various entities, generate complex reports, and provide forecasts and projections to inform long-term decision-making.

Additionally, this position may involve training colleagues on budget-related policies and procedures to strengthen the overall financial capabilities of the team.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field and five (5) years of experience in finance, preferably in a healthcare setting

Master's Degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration, or related field and three (3) years of experience, preferably in a healthcare setting

Knowledge: Requires knowledge of Budget processes; Corporate finance as it relates to all aspects of health care which may include the following: Budget analysis for health care programs and projects; Revenue cycle principles, Financial Statement Reporting and Consolidation; Management and development of staff.

Skills: Requires analytical ability to develop some management, narrative, and statistical reports; Monitors, identifies, and communicates over-expenditures to faculty and administrative staff; Understands, monitors, and positively impacts hospital billing reports; Keeps abreast of laws and regulations that apply to a particular staff function or field of professional expertise to maintain up-to-date compliance; monitors and approves department expenditures throughout the budgetary period; Exchanges non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate requiring good oral and written communication.




Salary Range: Minimum $30.60 per hour - Maximum $50.53 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
