Clinical Assistant Professor

* Teach, advise, supervise, and mentor students, primarily in MA program and School
Counseling Concentration
* Support the Play Therapy Secondary Concentration
* Actively contributeto the continuous development and assessment of the overall master's
program
* Lead clinical field placements of students
* Lead site supervisor workshops
* Integrate technology into teaching
* Provide service/outreach/engagement, and leadership in the department, college,
university, and community

* An earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited university
* Experience as a school counselor
* Experience as a play therapist in k-12 settings, preferred
* Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Professional School Counselor
* Demonstrated promise of excellent teaching
* Demonstrated promise of excellent supervision
* Ability to contribute to the core CACREP curriculum
* Commitment to expand department service/outreach/engagement relationships
* Involvement in professional counseling related organizations

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is seeking applications for a 9-month non-tenure track clinical assistant professor position in the Department of Counseling. This is a new line to support an established program with a strong national reputation. The initial three-year appointment is renewable as a five-year appointment contingent upon satisfactory performance. Successful candidates for this position must have an earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited university. ABD candidates will be considered if they provide evidence of completion date by August 15, 2025. All candidates must demonstrate a promising record of teaching, clinical supervision skills, ability to develop and maintain relationships with clinical and school sites, and interest in program coordinator and/or field placement responsibilities. This position will have a start date of Fall 2025.
