DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Institutional Safety Manager (Facility Safety Manager), you will be responsible for administering a safety program at SCI Muncy. There are five components of a safety program: General Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Compliance, Fire Prevention, and Safety and Sanitation. You will perform the following duties to help keep our facility operational:
- Ensuring the institution is in compliance with federal, state, and local agency regulations, along with the Department of Corrections policies and procedures;
- Leading the Fire Emergency Response Team;
- Conducting inspections, completing drills, and preparing and running scenarios related to fire and safety; and
- Training and maintaining training documentation related to fire and safety.

- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,035.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor's degree; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires you to obtain Advanced Safety Certification from the National Safety Council within five years.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Radiological Safety Officer Certification upon hire.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Lead Renovator Certification upon hire.
- This position requires you to obtain and maintain an Asbestos Supervisor and Building Inspector Certification upon hire.
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be a trained firefighter.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
