Description

The Latin American and Latino/a Studies (LALS) Program, in conjunction with the Jill Ker Conway Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Smith College, invites applications for a two-year, benefits eligible Postdoctoral Teaching Fellowship to begin July 1st, 2025. We are seeking to appoint an interdisciplinary scholar of Latinx/a/o Studies, who primarily works through the perspectives of the social sciences. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. by time of appointment and should be able to demonstrate a community-based/engaged teaching portfolio and an active research agenda with/in Latinx/a/o communities. Candidates from groups underrepresented in higher education are encouraged to apply.

We are interested in scholars of Latinx/a/o Studies with teaching and research interests in solidarity economies, micro-finance and feminist economies, or any other subarea of specialization that could contribute to the economic and financial education of Global Finance and Collaborative Innovation concentrators, LALS majors and minors, and the wider community of Smith College students. The LALS program and the Conway Center value research and pedagogical inquiries that consider global contexts, gender and racial justice, and enduring historical inequities within the discipline.
