Position Summary The Instructional Designer works with instructors and educational technologists to design and develop online courses, both degree, and non-degree programs for the Teaching Innovation team within the Digital Learning department at Tandon School of Engineering, ensuring high quality course materials are created and courses fulfill their objectives while providing a quality student learning experience. This is accomplished through the application of evidence-based pedagogy, knowledge of educational technology tools and systems, and effective implementation of project management practices. The Instructional Designer serves as a consultant to faculty with regard to analyzing learning needs, application of various instructional design models and delivery systems to meet those needs, and tools to achieve and measure student learning outcomes. Select appropriate learning theories; develop course and program assessment methods; create engaging instructional activities; meet accessibility and compliance requirements, and assess the effective utilization of innovative instructional technologies. Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Instructional Design or a related field Preferred Education: Master's Degree related to learning/instructional design/technology Required Experience: 3+ years experience with online education, supervision or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Experience: 3+ years in the design and development of innovative online learning courses and curricula. Experience working with educational technology vendors Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrated project management experience. Experience managing educational technology pilots and/or research experience. Demonstrated understanding of educational pedagogy, particularly in relation to online teaching and learning. Experience developing learning material using one or more of the following: Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Premiere, Camtasia, etc. Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience with STEM subjects Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $82,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
