Position Highlights Planning & Operations is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for learning, research, and work through the highest quality trained security personnel. As an unarmed Security Guard, it is your job to assist in maintaining the safety and security of students, staff, faculty, all other visitors, as well as assist in the general safekeeping of the facilities and grounds.
The Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC) Planning and Operations team handles campus services such as security, emergency preparedness, maintenance, custodial, motor pool, and utilities. Due to the nature of our educational environment and commitment to the safety of campus, this position will be expected to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

The Campus is a 30-acre, urban medical and bioscience campus with more than 1.7 million square-feet of biomedical-related research, academic, and clinical facilities with plans for more. It is the only site where you will find all 3 of Arizona's public universities in one location conducting and collaborating in research.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet, welcome, and provide exceptional customer service to all visitors to campus.
  • Provide information in a professionally courteous manner while building a rapport with University staff, faculty, students, vendors, and all visitors.
  • Respond to emergency calls & works with local law enforcement as necessary; completes detailed Incident Reports following the incident.
  • Patrol assigned areas of campus on foot, checking for fires, vandalism, maintenance issues, suspicious activity or persons, & other safety/fire hazards.
  • Monitor CCTV camera systems and report and act on suspicious observations or findings.
  • Maintain various data entry daily logs.
  • Follows all established University and department procedures and guidelines to maintain safety and security.
  • Inspects safety related equipment (1st Aid Kits, AEDs, fire extinguishers, etc) according to established schedules and protocols.
  • Report hazards and unusual or suspicious behavior
    or circumstances to Planning & Operations leadership and/or local law
    enforcement for correction or follow-up actions; maintain contact with campus
    police
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience is required.
  • Due to the nature of our educational environment and commitment to the safety of campus, this position will be expected to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
