Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Office of the University Registrar ( OUR) serves several key duties as set from the Faculty Code of University Government:

1) OUR serves as the keeper of the academic records of all students registered in the University and issues official transcripts and reports of such records; 2) conducts the registration of all students in the University; 3) prepares and publishes the class and examination schedules; and 4) administers the faculty regulations relating to the removal of academic deficiencies incurred in this University and to compliance with probation and readmission requirements.

To fulfill these duties the office has following core service areas for and on behalf of the university community, including students, alumni, administration, faculty, staff, and other constituents.

Position Summary
The Office of the University Registrar ( OUR) seeks innovative candidates for the position of Degree Audit and Graduation Specialist. The primary functions of this position are to audit students' degree audit reports for completion of all graduation requirements, program the degree audit, and manage the order and distribution of diplomas for the University. The incumbent will review the online degree audit to ensure students are meeting the rules, polices and requirements for their intended degree and communicate with advisors and departments about student progress toward degree completion. The Degree Audit Specialist will coordinate efforts with academic advising, undergraduate curricula, the Graduate School, professional schools, directors of (under)graduate studies in academic departments, and graduation coordinators to uphold the University's academic integrity and to facilitate student graduation.

The individual supports the PeopleSoft Grad Tracker for use by staff and advisors and provides names and degrees awarded of graduating students for the University commencement programs and other units, as needed; processes the ordering of diplomas, including requests for replacement diplomas; and processes department and college approved exceptions to university graduation requirements for students in the Tar Heel Tracker.

The individual communicates to the University community regarding graduation processes and deadlines and oversees training for university personnel in the graduation processing. The individual also ensures all FERPA guidelines are followed in the management of graduation and special recognition data.

The individual assists with the design of the overall architecture of the TarHeel Tracker ( THT), including its structure, configuration, and processes, analyzes current configurations and makes recommendations for improvements and new features of the THT. The individual also applies technical methodologies to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the THT as a tool for graduation clearance. Specialist in the Office of the University Registrar ( OUR). This position will maintain appropriate controls to maintain the integrity of all UNC-CH curricular documents and systems.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience with undergraduate education, PeopleSoft and/or degree clearance is preferred.
