The Department of Mechanical Engineering at New York Institute of Technology (New York Tech) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Engineering (the department hosts both Mechanical Engineering and Construction Engineering programs). Open to all areas of Mechanical Engineering and Construction Engineering.



Responsibilities

    Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Perform research and scholarship activities.
  • Maintaining weekly office hours.
  • Providing academic advising as assigned by the chair.
  • Participating in all departmental/school activities that advance the goals of the Department/school, i.e. Open House, Preview days, registration, recruitment, service on departmental and college-wide committees, curriculum development, etc.
  • Successful candidates will share our vision to grow the College of Engineering and Computing Sciences into a leader in applied research and a premier source of student talent in the New York Metropolitan Area and globally.


Qualifications

  • Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Civil Engineering, or Construction Engineering, or a related area.
  • The candidates should have excellent communication skills, and a solid track record in academia or industry.

New York Tech considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience/expertise, education/training, key skills, geographic location, internal peer equity as well as market, organizational considerations and/or applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.



Minimum Salary

USD $75,500.00/Yr.


Maximum Salary

USD $110,000.00/Yr.
