Overview
LifeLong Medical Care has an exciting new opportunity for a Center Director at our Brookside San Pablo Health Center. The Center Director provides leadership and clinic management for day-to-day operations of one or more health centers for LifeLong Medical Care. Such management includes service planning, objective setting, system development, staffing, quality assurance activity and service standards, budget and personnel issues. LifeLong uses team-based care to provide the most efficient and effective care to our patients. This position functions as a critical member of the care team, ensuring team communication, quality care, and patient satisfaction. This is a full time, exempt, benefit eligible position in San Pablo, CA. LifeLong Medical Care is a multi-site, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with a rich history of providing innovative healthcare and social services to a wonderfully diverse patient community. Responsibilities
Budget and Financial Responsibility
Responsible, together with the Director of Health Center Operations, for clinic financial performance including annual budget development, monthly reviews, and interface with finance department.
Supervision of Clinic Staff
- Oversees clinic staff to support overall delivery of clinical services in conjunction with Associate Medical Director.
- Recruits, hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates the performance of the supervisors and other clinic support staff. Jointly oversees nursing and social services staff with the Associate Medical Director.
- Coordinates the implementation of staff educational programs together with the Associate Medical Director and Human Resources Director, including in-service training agenda to meet the regulatory requirements and professional development needs of all clinic staff.
- Oversees the implementation of physician, mid-level practitioner, and ancillary personnel clinic schedules including temporary providers in coordination with the Associate Medical Director.
- Submits bi-weekly reviewed and approved timesheets for providers and staff.
Program Planning, Implementation and Evaluation
- Evaluates clinic workflow and activities to improve and optimize efficiency, client satisfaction, and control of costs.
- Collaborates with the Director of Health Center Operations, Associate Medical Director in initiating policies and plans for overall operation of the health center, and establishment of goals and priorities.
- Provides regular reports to Director of Health Center Operations and other senior leadership to evaluate the achievement of business and program goals.
Liaison Activities
- Meets with the Director of Health Center Operations and the Associate Medical Director to coordinate clinical and administrative activities.
- Coordinates LifeLong Medical Care services with external health care agencies and internal ancillary service providers.
- Responds to patient complaints, facilitates resolution of conflicts/issues.
- Attends external planning and coordination meetings with other agencies as assigned.
- Manages outside service work interface for laboratory, hazardous waste, housekeeping (linen services), and others as required.
Quality Assurance
- Collaborates with Associate Medical Director and Director of Health Center Operations in planning and evaluating program of patient care in accordance with protocols, standardized procedures, legal and regulatory governments and agencies, infection control standards and quality assurance program criteria.
- Participates in the implementation of the clinic quality improvement initiatives.
- Assists the Associate Medical Director and Director of Health Center Operations in the documentation, annual review and update of clinical procedures and patient care protocols.
General Administration
- Monitors and oversees daily compliance with security protocols and energy efficiency measures within the clinic (nightly powering down of equipment and secure lock-up).
- Attends Board of Director's meetings as assigned.
- Assures that the goals and objectives of LifeLong Medical Care are met in the daily work.
- Fosters an environment of comfort and trust among co-workers and patients in providing quality health care.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Health Center Operations.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years clinic management experience in an outpatient or related healthcare setting.
- Experience with project management and budgeting.
- Successful community engagement experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Job Preferences
- Degree in public health, business or health care administration.
- Community Health Center experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
