We are seeking a Storeroom Specialist to join our rapidly growing team.

The Opportunity:

The Storeroom Specialist will be responsible for maintaining our storeroom facility in line with our standards of excellence. You will have the opportunity to receive, process, and stock our inventory as it arrives. As the team member receiving shipments, you will ensure that all products match our order logs and are recorded properly to maintain accurate records. No details are too small for our team - we expect that you feel the same way!

The Accountabilities:

  • Provide customer services to faculty, staff, students and guests.

  • Receive product/merchandise. Ensure all received goods meet standards and health code requirements.

  • Reconcile invoices with order sheets.

  • Stock all inventory in designated areas.

  • Assist in identifying product needs. Place product orders.

  • Maintain inventories. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts. Record end-of-month inventory.

  • Maintain organization of storage areas.

  • Maintain cleanliness of facilities.

  • Adhere to department service standards and to all health, safety and University rules and regulations.

  • Attend and participate in meetings as required.

  • Report to station, ready to work at the time work assignment is scheduled to begin.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The University reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

The Qualifiers:

  • Minimum Education: High School not required.

  • Minimum Experience: 1 year.

  • Minimum Field of Expertise:

    • Must have valid California Food Handler Card or obtain card within first 30 days of hire.

    • Knowledge of food handling and sanitation procedures.

    • Demonstrated customer service experience.

    • Experience working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

    • Ability to effectively communicate in English.

    • Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.

    • Valid CA driver's license required. Position will participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System. A copy of DMV record will be required as a final condition of employment. For more information please visit the policy website.

  • Expertise: 2 years inventory control/maintenance.

The hourly rate for this position is $20.15. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.


Minimum Education: High School not required.
Minimum Experience: 1 year.
Minimum Field of Expertise: Demonstrated customer service experience. Experience working in a fast-paced working environment. Ability to effectively communicate in English.
