Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin Madison, Division of Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M), is pleased to announce that a Procurement Specialist position is available in the Business Operations and Purchasing department. This position reports to the Associate Director within FP&M and is a non-delegated Procurement Specialist position. Under general supervision the qualified candidate will serve as a professional Procurement Specialist working independently to procure goods and services for FP&M departments as well as the greater campus needs using the department's fully delegated authority.

You will manage Department of Administration (DOA), UW Madison, and Universities of Wisconsin contract-referenced purchase orders and assist in the development of new and renewals of existing contracts. The Procurement Specialist also prepares specifications, coordinates simplified bid procedures, evaluates competitive bids, and recommends and/or awards simplified bids.

The qualified candidate will also participate in the development and coordination of internal policies and procedures, provide guidance to FP&M staff, act as liaison between FP&M staff and other various campus stakeholders to obtain information and/or resolve disputes.

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university


Qualifications:

Required:
Minimum of two (2) years purchasing-related work experience or equivalent. Understanding of State of Wisconsin Procurement regulations and laws, or equivalent comparable experience. Experience utilizing computer applications such as the Microsoft Suite of products and ERP, MRP, or procurement systems knowledge required

Preferred:
CPM, CPSM, APICS, or other relevant supply chain certification. Thorough understanding of State of Wisconsin procurement Ch. 16 guidelines. Workday/Jaggaer/SciQuest and/or Assetworks experience. Experience issuing and awarding bids or proposals. Experience negotiating terms and conditions of contracts. Experience with remote work and online collaboration tools such as Microsoft teams, Webex, Zoom. Previous purchasing experience: maintenance repair and operational supplies and services, computer hardware and software, office, library and laboratory furniture, laboratory equipment, chemicals, gases and fuel, paint, elevator maintenance, audio and video equipment, signage, security systems, equipment and services

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

The starting salary for the position is $50,000/year, but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
