Position Highlights |
The Sarver Heart Center at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson is seeking multiple highly motivated candidates for full-time positions as Postdoctoral Research Associates in Dr. Hesham Sadek's laboratory. The lab focuses on cardiac metabolism, regeneration and stem cell metabolism research. The successful Postdoctoral applicants should be organized, detail oriented, productive and be able to work independently as well as with others. Prior research experience in molecular biology, clinical trials, drug discovery or cardiovascular research is preferred but not required. Successful candidates will be involved in studies related to mechanisms of genetic cardiomyopathies as well as mechanisms and therapeutics for induction of myocardial regeneration. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Perform independent multi-disciplinary research experiments under the direction of the principal investigator.
- Develop, design, and conduct complex research projects.
- Develop and maintain detailed records of experiments, analyzing and writing findings.
- Develop and implement protocols as dictated by experimental results.
- Perform scientific data collections, reductions, and analyses involving routine procedures characterized by use of independent judgment.
- Present results at laboratory meetings and conferences.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in grant writing, including generating preliminary data, submitting grant applications, and preparing progress reports.
- Oversee maintenance of hazardous/chemical waste records and disposal as needed.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
