What does our Director, Finance Specialty Business do?

This role will oversee all of the financial functions of the business. This includes financial planning, analysis, and decision making support for the business, back office accounting oversight, integration of acquisitions and engagement in support of projects and business cases for capital investment. As part of the leadership team, this role works closely with the VP, and the leadership team to ensure that the business strategy delivers the desired financial and operational results. They should possess solid business acumen, be capable of analyzing a variety of business situations, often with limited initial information provided. This role is highly self-directed. They must be capable of receiving strategic guidance, and then developing and implementing the steps necessary for effective implementation/execution.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversees the development of the AOP (Annual Operating Plan), considering input from all functions (e.g. Logistics, Operations, and Procurement) and bridging to top-down guidance. This includes full P&L, select Balance Sheet accounts, Capital Expenditure planning, Working Capital planning and Headcount planning.
  • Oversee monthly and FY P&L forecasting.
  • Oversee the rebate process (both vendors and customers). Oversee the monthly rebate accrual and make adjustments as rebate programs change. Ensure that Balance Sheet accruals are properly stated.
  • Develop a cohesive and comprehensive strategy for harmonizing business policies across multiple acquisitions including (but not limited to) Sales Commissions and other incentives, Credit and Collections, Pricing, Outbound Shipping, and Standard Costing.
  • Develop and implement a vision for merging acquired companies onto one ERP platform.
  • Prepare acquisition business cases, perform due diligence procedures on acquisition candidates, integrate acquired companies, and track performance against the business case.
  • Review gross margins and propose/implement opportunities for improvement.
  • Deliver monthly MPR (Management Performance Review) reporting package with analysis of results.
  • Analyze and improve business processes to ensure an effective control environment and adherence to financial policies, procedures, and limits of authority.
  • Ad hoc analysis. As the business changes and grows, this role will be required to financially evaluate new initiatives.
  • Develop and communicate recommendations to senior leaders to improve business results and add value to the organization.
  • Review and approve AP and Payroll.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal/state/provincial law and company business philosophy.
  • Ensure security and integrity of Rentokil financial information.
  • Assist with Internal and External Audits.
  • Coordinate back office functions including A/R, A/P, Banking, G/L, Balance Sheet and general accounting oversight.

What do you need?

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field or equivalent relevant experience.
  • MBA in finance, accounting or related field - preferred.
  • 2+ years relevant experience in a management role.
  • Proven ability to develop strong working relationships with leaders and act as a partner on all financial related decisions.
  • Strong abilities in effective solutions to various operational and financial matters.
  • 8+ years of finance experience in a multi-unit organization.
  • Travel by Car and Airplane up to 10% of the time depending on geographic location (conditions permitting).
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment while maintaining focus on delivering repeatable, reliable solutions with flawless execution and superior customer service.
  • Ability to work independently setting own priorities and objectives with leadership support.
  • Skilled at focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, identifying next steps, and effectively meeting deadlines and achieving desired results.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV ERP - preferred.
  • Anaplan Budgeting/Forecasting - preferred.
  • Cognos - preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 2007 or later, especially Excel, and Intermediate skills in Word, and PowerPoint - preferred.
  • Have knowledge of Google Suite, especially Google Drive and associated programs frequently used at Rentokil North America (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Slides) - preferred.
  • Experience supporting different districts/areas of the business at once. - preferred.
  • Experience working with large amounts of data. - preferred.
  • Experience with presenting data to the Leadership team. - preferred.
  • Experience managing large projects. - preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment background screen.
