Business Development Manager

Summary of position

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and driving growth through effective sales strategies. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal abilities.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns, networking, and meeting sales quotas.

Essential Functions of the role:



  • Generate new business leads through networking, cold calling, and attending industry events
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Monitor and report on sales metrics, market trends, and competitive activities
  • Prepare and present compelling business proposals and presentations to potential clients
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align strategies and initiatives


Qualifications



  • 10+ years in a Business Development role
  • Experience in the demolition, abatement or remediation industries preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Sales, or a related field
  • Proven work experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Account Executive or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Hubspot)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations
  • Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Projects proficiency required


Physical Requirements




  • Sedentary Work: Must be able to sit for prolonged periods (up to 6 hours per day) with occasional standing and walking.



  • Lifting: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.



  • Vision: Must be able to read standard text and see objects at a distance of up to 20 feet.



  • Hearing: Must be able to hear and understand conversations in a typical office environment.



  • Mobility: Must be able to navigate office spaces, including accessing file cabinets and office machinery.
