Position Highlights

The Department of Emergency Medicine is recruiting a Clinical Research Coordinator III to lead project coordination and recruitment for departmental research operations. The position will report directly to the Vice Chair for Research and collaborate with individual investigators to oversee critical aspects of new research projects, including complex data collection. This role will also involve close coordination with other study coordinators and staff members. The incumbent will perform informed consenting of subjects, develop new protocols, develop standardized operating procedures, perform regulatory oversight functions, and collect questionnaires. Applicants should be detail-oriented, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be highly organized and motivated.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Using in-depth expertise, lead the coordination and conduct multiple clinical research studies according to protocol, including subject recruitment, consenting, and administration of protocol required procedures, and communicate with the Vice Chair of Research to provide input on program and process development.
  • Use critical thinking and clinical trial experience to oversee research study participant's completion of study related activities per study protocol.
  • Develop and provide training and guidance for study support personnel.
  • Accurately collect clinical data from research subject interviews, medical record review, and study indicated procedures with data entry into appropriate data management systems.
  • Evaluate and interpret research project results.
  • Develop customized REDCap database builds/management, compile data analysis, and analyze trends and data in recruitment to write research reports and prepare study materials.
  • Manage IRB and regulatory requirements for assigned studies, including coordination of new protocol submissions, renewals, and revisions, and interfacing with numerous systems like eIRB.
  • Maintain communication and liaison project coordination with collaborating spokes in the SIREN network.
  • Create standard operating procedures and workflows to establish and maintain effective study operations.
  • Day-to-day coordination of study support personnel and student research assistants.
  • Attend research meetings as required by the individual study, investigator, or Vice Chair for Research.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with REDCap.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records system(s).
  • CPR Certified.
