Position Highlights

The Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking a Financial Analyst I to support finance operations. The position is involved in managing faculty salary allocations, monitoring budgets, reconciling data, producing financial reports, and managing accounts. This role is a key part of the department's finance team, providing essential analysis, accounting and financial support to the department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supports the finance team by doing general analysis including forecasting and preparation of clinical hour calculations to ensure 24/7/365 shift coverage in the Emergency Room. This involves the review and monitoring of departmental/grant/contract activity, budgets and balances for appropriate spending and compliance with policies and regulations of various agencies in addition to UA policies and regulations using basic knowledge of accounting skill.
  • Provides support in management of grants & contracts, ensuring alignment with contract budget and scope of work as determined by the sponsor.
  • Performs a variety of transactional responsibilities including submission of disbursement vouchers, cash receipts, travel expense reports, and salary expense transfers. Participate in the P-Card management process.
  • Does primary reconciliation of payroll records and preparing/managing funding plans under the guidance of senior finance personnel. Reconciles effort for UA and Banner faculty, prepare adjustments as needed. Prepare supplemental payments for extra hours worked by clinical faculty, residents, and advanced practice providers.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience required.
