Position Highlights |
The Department of Mathematics seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of Math 100 Assistant Coordinator. The primary role of the Math 100 Assistant Coordinator is to work with the other team members - including the Math 100 Course Director, Program Coordinator, Undergraduate Teaching Assistants, and administrative staff - to help facilitate the Math 100 course, the placement process, as well as in-person office hours and testing. We are looking for someone with a strong teaching, tutoring or advising background who is able to understand the needs of students taking developmental math courses. A strong background in planning/logistics is required. The successful candidate will also enjoy working with people and be an enthusiastic team player. Facility with Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word and Outlook are essential. Skills testing will be part of the interview process. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Manage afternoon and early evening hours for in-person Math 100 classes
- Manage all afternoon and early evening in-person proctored exams for Math 100 classes and placement testing
- Manage testing for online Math 100 students
- Assist in maintaining grade and attendance records for students
- Assist with revision and maintenance of materials for UTAs (Undergraduate Teaching Assistants) who work in Math 100
- Assisting with Payroll in UAccess for all student workers
- Meeting with students regarding the Math 100 class
- Assist with training for all undergraduate and graduate student staff
- Assist with hiring and scheduling for all undergraduate student staff
- Assist with evaluation of all Math 100 undergraduate student and graduate student staff
- Assist with reviewing videos for various proctoring needs within the department
- Assist answering tickets in Helpspot
- Assist answering student questions in Microsoft Teams and Google Chat
- Assist in academic integrity violations for exams proctored in the Math Lab
- Update student information in UAccess
- Assist with summer orientations, placement and advising
- Support the department Undergraduate Learning Assistant (ULA) program
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills, and proven ability to work with stressed or upset people
- Ability to learn and implement new technologies
- Ability to work well with a team and under supervision
- Knowledge of and skills with D2L or other learning management systems, such as Canvas.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Math Education, or related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required and include experience teaching Mathematics or STEM content or directly related experience advising or tutoring students.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- Experience with project management or event planning.
