Supporting the Portland Community

Youth Peer Support Partner, having lived experience with their own mental health struggles, provides one-on-one support to people in the community, at their homes, and/or at the location where the peer supporter works.

Position Highlights:

  • Base hourly rate: $19.53
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 18-26
  • Growth: Largest Employer in the State and the largest Healthcare provider in Northern New England

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

1. Education: High School diploma or GED preferred. 2. License/Certifications: Completion of, or ability to complete State of Maine Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) Certification required. Provisional CIPSS Certification is required within 9 months of start date. If CIPSS is required, the ability to maintain certification is required. Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation required 3. Experience: Experience providing one-on-one and/or group facilitation peer support preferred. 4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Youth Peer Support Statewide Network must be between the ages of 18-26 years of age. Personal history of significant mental health/substance use challenges and a willingness to be open about these challenges in peer support relationships required. Computer proficiency required. 5.
