Summary of Job Duties:The Department of Psychological Science invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month tenure track Assistant Professor position beginning August 2025. UA Little Rock is a doctoral-intensive metropolitan university serving a diverse student body of approximately 8,000 full- and part-time students. The Department of Psychological Science houses one of the largest degree programs at UALR with about 500 active majors, state-of-the-art classrooms, and both flexible and fixed laboratory resources (e.g., statistics, developmental, bio-behavioral, emotion-cognition laboratories.) Support for faculty and student-engaged research and the pursuit of extramural funding is possible. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Psychology, ABD considered.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • A focus in one of the following: Human Factors, Emotion and Motivation, Learning, Psychometrics, Quantitative Psychology, or Human Experimental Psychology.

  • Experience teaching Psychological Statistics and Research Methods in Psychology.

  • Existing scholarship in area of expertise

Job Duties and/or Responsibilities:

  • Teaching to include courses in Statistics and Research Methods;
  • Exhibit a commitment to writing in the discipline;
  • Engage in research and scholarship activities;
  • Supervise student research and internships;
  • Advise students in the major;
  • Participate in service activities in the program, college, university, and the Little Rock community;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Experience in online teaching and integrating technology in teaching;
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of learners;
  • Desire to engage in professional service activities in the community;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate;
