Position Summary
The Graduate Hourly Assistant (Program Assistant) provides administrative support to the Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and staff in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the College of Medicine. This position will support activities related to the administration of the Diversity office in the College of Medicine.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide intermediate administrative support to staff
  • Coordinates and assists in program activities for DEI and the Health Equity Pilot Program (HEPP) grant
  • Schedules meetings, takes minutes, creates, and distributes correspondence (emails, surveys, etc.)
  • Assist with collating reports detailing program activities
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.

  • Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled as a graduate student at the university (Health professional: nursing, public health, pharmacy, dentistry, allied health sciences)
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and UIC Box
    • Excellent computer and organizational skills
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in technology applications and web-based training applications and platforms (e.g., Zoom, MSTeams, etc.)
    • Interested in working on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion related activities and initiatives


    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with statistical software (Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, etc.)

    The role will require around 10-15 hours per week. This is a year-round, position. Some in-person attendance may be required for special events (evenings and mornings) This position does not include a tuition waiver.
