The Department of Medicine (DOM) is the largest department within the UCSD School of Medicine and is responsible for fulfilling the teaching, research and clinical missions of the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. The department employs approximately 500 salaried faculty, 168 academic appointees, 331 residents, fellows and postdocs and 480 staff personnel. Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCSM), dynamic nature often necessitates shifting priorities, creating new initiatives, and making changes to personnel and space assignments. Under the general supervision of the Division Administrator, the incumbent will be responsible for providing the highest quality of analytical, programmatic, administrative and fiscal support to over 84 Faculty, 24 Staff Physicians, 10 VA Faculty, 3 Researchers, 22 Fellows, 6 Post-docs, and 94+ administrative, research and support staff. PCCSM is a dynamic division that changes with the nature and scope of Division and Department of Medicine operations, especially research activities. The Operations Manager is responsible for the administration of the divisional program coordination and management of divisional financial, academic and research programs. Coordinate and develop programs, adhering to program goals and objectives. Evaluate ongoing activities and provide feedback to the Division Administrator to maximize the effectiveness of the programs. Uses skills as a seasoned and experienced administrative operations professional to manage, plan and administer the operations of mid-sized academic or non-academic department or organizational unit with limited scope. May report to a chair, director, or a higher level administrative operations professional or manager. Perform short- and long-term planning for the organization. May supervise staff or students. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $77,000 - $139,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $36.88 - $66.67 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
